Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic PE teacher who has experience of teaching at Year 7 to 11 to fill this role from 1st September 2024. The successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with experience in teaching throughout the age range. They will also be able to inspire and motivate students of all aptitudes and abilities. In addition, they will have responsibility for dance. A willingness to contribute to the broader life of the school, including running visits and fixtures, is essential. The successful candidate will need to be able to commit to two evenings after school and should be able to drive a minibus (testing can be arranged by the school if needed). This role is being advertised as a minimum of 0.6FTE, but in order to boost the development of PE across the school, we are willing to consider candidates seeking a full-time position.

All teaching staff also have vital roles as tutors within our vertical tutor system: this post will include responsibility for a mixed-age tutor group.

This is a maternity cover post with FTE as a minimum of 0.6 up to full time. The start date is September 2024.

As one of the top state schools in the UK, we believe in challenging and supporting our girls to make the most of every opportunity in their formal studies and beyond.  Stratford Girls’ Grammar School is a selective girls' 11 to 18 school with 816 girls on roll.
