TEACHER OF PE – MPS - Maternity leave cover
(Temporary until November 2018 or earlier return of postholder from maternity leave)
From November 2017, the Governors of Meadowhead School wish to appoint a committed, well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher to join our outstanding Health, Fitness and Well Being Faculty. This exciting opportunity encompasses the responsibility for the teaching of Physical Education and the broader aspects of promoting healthy lifestyles and fitness for students. Our aim is to encourage students to become healthy citizens for the future.
We are looking for a teacher who can teach across the PE curriculum, with the ability to teach across a range of games activities. The ability and desire to teach Health and Social Care would be an advantage. The school has excellent health and fitness facilities and is continually improving its provision in this area. Extra-curricular activities are a fundamental part of the department’s ethos therefore; commitment in this area would be encouraged.
The successful candidate will be required to teach examined courses across KS4 with the possibility of KS5. This could include BTEC Health and Social Care (Level 2 and Level 3), BTEC Sport (Level 2 and Level 3) and GCSE PE. Could applicants specify the courses they feel qualified and confident to teach.
