Richmond Park Academy (RPA) is part of Academies Enterprise Trust (AET) group and is situated in East Sheen, close to Richmond Park which is the largest of the capital’s eight Royal Parks and the biggest enclosed space in London. Richmond, Kingston and the West End are all between 15 and 30 minutes journey from the school and our proximity to central London means that students can benefit enormously from the vast range of social, cultural, sporting and academic opportunities that we are able to access.
Our student body is diverse, exciting and talented – and the same is true of our staff. We put huge emphasis on professional development, most of it in-house, and are proud of the high number of good and outstanding teachers who work in our school. We are also noted for our ‘can do’ attitude. We are keen, always, to encourage new and/or young staff to make their mark as soon as they are ready.
We are seeking to appoint a talented, highly motivated and inspirational professional who will be responsible for teaching KS3, KS4 and KS5 students. Experience teaching GCSE, A Level and BTEC qualifications is preferable but not essential. A high level of commitment towards maintaining and developing our excellent extra-curricular offer is essential.
You will be a highly skilled and confident teacher who has the ability to inspire pupils and be a candidate who has the ability to work collaboratively and innovatively and who wants to give their time and energy to strive and encourage students to reach their potential.
The newly appointed member of staff will be an excellent teacher with a passion and flair for the subject and the teaching of it. He or she will be an ambitious, committed and hardworking team player who will support the academy to raise the profile and ongoing commitment of the subject area, and, more widely, the academy.
Whether you are just starting out in the profession or have more experience you will be part of a highly motivated body of staff and if you strive for excellence and enjoy doing things well you will have the opportunity to develop your own practice and to try new things.
The school completed a £10m rebuild and refurbishment programme, including the introduction of a 6th form in 2014. Our 2012 Ofsted reported that we were a ‘good’ school in all categories. The inspector wrote: “Leaders and managers share a commitment to drive up standards, provide a broad and sturdy foundation for students’ future well-being and establish the academy as the school of choice within its locality”.
As the sponsor, AET believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners – to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first rate educational environment with the best facilities, the best teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them. In each of our academies, you will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes. You will also be entitled to the following benefits: a health cash plan, vehicle affinity scheme, Cycle2work, childcare vouchers and Westfield rewards.
