Job overview

WMG Academy is looking for an outstanding Teacher (or equivalent) of PE to join the team at WMG Academy. The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting young people and determined to see all students achieve their best. PE as a ‘stand alone’ subject will be new for WMG Solihull in September 2024, the successful candidate will have the ability to set up, plan and deliver a curriculum to all Year 10 and Year 11 learners in the academy.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable ability to engage students between the ages of 14 and 19 and help to foster a safe learning environment. The ideal candidate will be a champion of the Academy’s ‘business-like, business-led’ ethos.

WMG Academy for Young Engineers Solihull is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with a sixth form in the West Midlands, serving students from the age of 14-18. The secondary school, situated in Solihull is a University Technical College (UTC), led by businesses and a university.  Partners at WMG Academy for Young Engineers Solihull include The University of Warwick, WMG, National Grid, Rolls Royce and Jaguar Land Rover.

WMG Academy for Young Engineers Solihull opened in 2016. There is also another WMG Academy in Coventry, which opened in 2014. The Academy has purpose-built learning facilities, including dedicated engineering equipment and professional working spaces substituting classrooms.
