We are seeking an outstanding Physical Education teacher who specialises in Netball and GCSE PE to join our successful PE department in a full-time maternity cover post from September 2023. This post would suit an NQT or experienced teacher. Our aim is for every pupil to enjoy PE lessons, learn and go on to lifelong participation in physical activity. Sport enjoys a high profile within the school and is an important part of the curriculum. The Physical Education Department comprises the Director of Sport and four full-time staff members.
Given the school’s prestigious central location, the PE Department makes use of the tennis, netball, football and rounders facilities in Regent’s Park which is located opposite the school. Our athletics and cross-country teams also use this facility. The school has its unique underground swimming pool, which has led the foundation for our successful swimming team. Hockey is taught off-site at Paddington Recreation Ground, where the girls can use these first-class facilities with the backdrop of London.
The Department runs an extensive extra-curricular programme, which the successful candidate will be expected to deliver to an excellent level. Teams are trained in hockey, netball, football, cricket, athletics, tennis, swimming, gymnastics and cross country from U12 to U18. Fixtures take place after school and some occasional weekends. Daily training sessions take place before and after school and at lunchtimes.
The successful candidate must be an inspirational PE teacher and be comfortable teaching netball, hockey, football, athletics, cricket, gymnastics, dance and swimming.
Francis Holland School, Regent’s Park, was founded in 1878 and is regarded today as one of London’s most academically selective girls’ independent day schools. Entry to the school is very competitive; girls achieve exceptionally good results in examinations at GCSE and A Level, and progress to some of the best universities in the UK, as well as to top global institutions such as those in the US. There are close links with our “sister” school at Francis Holland, Sloane Square, which was founded in 1881.

Francis Holland School, Regent’s Park, is a leading independent school, for girls aged from 11-18, located in Marylebone, central London. There are currently over 550 pupils on roll. Francis Holland is in the top 30 independent schools in London for GCSE and A Level grades.
Francis Holland School was founded in 1878 by the Reverend Canon Francis Holland. It was originally opened in Baker Street, where it remained until 1915, before relocating to a new purpose-built site near Clarence Gate. The School has since expanded to include a Classics Centre and a Seminar Room, both on Ivor Place and a state of the art Sixth Form Centre, Linhope House. The School is governed by the Francis Holland Schools Trust along with its sister school Francis Holland School, Sloane Square.
