De Warenne Academy is looking to appoint a Teacher of PE with maths or science.
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, enthusiastic and hard-working individual to join our academy from September 2018 – or later by negotiation, on a temporary 1 year contract.

De Warenne Academy is a rapidly improving school. We have the highest ambitions for all and work closely in partnership with parents and students to ensure every child can fulfil their potential. In summer 2016, we celebrated the best results in the history of the academy, with 61% achieving GCSE passes in maths and English at grades A*-C, alongside the highest A Level results in Doncaster. This year we focused on raising results across the entire curriculum and we saw GCSE attainment surge to meet similar standards across the vast majority of subjects. We aim to intervene quickly to support students at risk of falling behind and adapt the curriculum to help them. In Key Stage Three, we have nurture groups, ensuring that all students are taught in a supportive environment which meets their needs, enabling them to thrive and make progress.

Our aim is for all our students to learn in a positive, safe and supportive environment where academic achievement is celebrated and effort and attitude to learning is rewarded. Since our OFSTED inspection in October 2021, which deemed De Warenne a ‘Good’ school in all areas, GCSE results have shown a continuous improvement year on year.
The class of 2023 left our Academy with fantastic results, making the most progress in the history of De Warenne and having made more progress than any other secondary school in Doncaster. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum, with academic, vocational and technical subjects offered to all our students and we deliver a rich and varied personal development curriculum. We offer a wide range of enrichment activities in order to unearth a variety of strengths and talent, which we strongly encourage students to take part in. We also take learning beyond the classroom with events and educational visits running throughout the year. We serve the villages of Conisbrough and Denaby Main, situated between Doncaster and Rotherham. We are a small but oversubscribed academy, with over 750 students on roll, and we pride ourselves on knowing our students well and doing our best to ensure everyone fulfils their potential.
