Solihull Alternative Provision Multi Academy Trust is an alternative provision where we provide alternative solutions for a number of students for whom mainstream education is simply not working (for a range of reasons). In our short lifetime thus far we have grown considerably and continue to grow as our provision evolves. We now consist of our main site and provision for year 9-11, The Mercury Centre, The Saturn Centre, the Pathfinder Centre (Year 7-8), and we welcomed Daylesford Academy to the Trust from 1 September 2022.

The Trust ensures all students across the Local Authority have access to a high-quality alternative educational provision.

The Trust provides a safe, well-ordered, caring and highly supportive learning environment that will deliver high-quality education to students who need a more closely-focused learning solution. The use of outstanding, inspiring teaching and clear, consistent guidance and support will play a pivotal role in helping each child fulfil their maximum potential for growth, self-worth, and self-control. Our students will benefit from small class sizes where an emphasis will be placed on a personalised approach to learning.

Working across the Trust, you will be required to help drive forward Teaching and Learning and have a real impact for our students. The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge, strong behaviour management skills, and be able to motivate students through inspirational teaching. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented teacher to join our Multi Academy Trust. The successful applicant will join a team of teachers and must be able to teach Key Stage 3 PE and 4 Games as well at BTEC Sport (and, possibly, GCSE PE,), and Science.

The Academy leadership team is determined to give our students the best opportunities possible to become successful, responsible citizens with the best life chances. This is a critical appointment for the school, and, is an exciting opportunity for you to work in an aspirational, therapeutic and innovative environment with students who need you.

Solihull Alternative Provision Multi Academy Trust exists because we have a commitment and passion for providing the best alternative provision to enable the educational futures and improve the life chances for every student who comes to us. We consider that a locally-led and accountable Trust focused on alternative provision provides the best outcomes for learners in danger of “falling through the cracks”. Our mission, across the Trust, is to:

  • Prevent Permanent Exclusion (and/or providing a pathway back from it)
  • Use more targeted intervention and relational teaching and therefore Fewer Fixed Term Exclusions (Suspensions)
  • Enable our students to beat their Baseline and KS2 targets

By doing this we are, most importantly, able to ensure there are No NEETS in our leavers.  Ensuring these positive destinations and outcomes of education, employment and/or training  for the most vulnerable, most disadvantaged  and highest-tariff children in the area is our clear focus and external partnerships, particularly with local employers/business are hugely important to enable us to continue hitting the targets for our students as we expand.

Our Trust is currently comprised of two schools; Solihull Alternative Provision Academy and Daylesford Academy, across three sites and we will be welcoming a third academy and three more sites in 2024.
