Job overview

Chailey is a small, thriving, successful school set in rural Sussex within easy reach of Brighton. We are proud of our traditional values and innovative approaches to Teaching and Learning. Staff are friendly, dedicated and supportive; our students are happy and proud to be part of the school. Chailey is a school where teachers and students can thrive. We are seeking a talented, innovative colleague who would be keen to work with motivated and responsive young people. Visitors to Chailey School often comment on the calm teaching environment and fantastic relationships between students and teachers.

We are very rural but many of our staff live in nearby towns and cities and car sharing to work is possible to arrange. Our teaching body is very stable because we offer opportunities for career development, genuinely useful professional training and we support the well-being of our staff.

The PE Faculty is strong, dynamic, collaborative and friendly. They are a stable team, with many teachers staying for a long time and developing their careers with us.

We teach Level 2 BTEC Sport and dance GCSE. If you have a strong desire to help students of all abilities to achieve the best they can and fulfill your own potential, then we would be very pleased to hear from you. This post would be an ideal opportunity for an ECT or for a more experienced teacher.

Ofsted

“Staff know their pupils very well and help them to grow in confidence while developing their knowledge and understanding. As a result, pupils make good, and sometimes better, progress. Pupils appreciate what staff do for them and, therefore, their conduct is typically exemplary, both in lessons and around the school.”
