About Akademeia High School
Akademeia High School is a new international, academically-selective school in Warsaw, offering IGCSEs and A Levels alongside Akademeia Assessed Courses. The school focuses on developing both students’ academic abilities and their artistic, athletic and leadership potential. The majority of our students are preparing to study at Oxbridge, Russell group, and Ivy League universities as well as acclaimed schools of architecture, art and music. The school has a substantial scholarship programme: about 20% of students are scholars. With a rigorous admissions process and A Level classes taught in the form of undergraduate seminars, the school is like a pre-university university. In the first set of full A Level results in 2019, 74% were graded A*/A, comparable to the top 25 public schools in the UK.
The school has a vibrant academic community actively engaged in shaping the school’s ethos. We are informed by tradition, as many teachers have experience of studying and teaching in the UK, and inspired by new developments in education, e.g. the Harkness Table method, interdisciplinary projects, blended learning and formative assessment. The maximum class size is 12 which allows our students to benefit from more focused and personalised teaching.
In September 2017, the school moved to an award winning, state-of-the-art, purpose-designed building with modern facilities for both students and teachers.
