Do you have a passion for Photography and want to enthuse students? We are looking for someone who is innovative, inspiring, dedicated and able to creatively challenge our enthusiastic learners. Our department is renowned for producing a diverse range of dynamic and innovative work and includes photography, graphics, fine art and media. 

The current post holder teaches on both the A level Photography and Level 2 GCSE photography programmes. Excellent subject knowledge and experience of both darkroom and digital processes in essential. An understanding of the new linear A Levels and the specification being delivered would be advantageous.

St Vincent College has a well-established A-level photography programme which is an integral part of a friendly and supportive visual & performing arts team.

As a college, we deliver outstanding teaching and learning to achieve the best outcomes possible for our learners. Students follow the OCR specifications across the 3 visual art specialisms, and we focus on instilling individual creativity and personalised target setting whilst working to clear communicated assessment objectives. 

There is a dedicated, well-resourced Mac suite, darkroom, and purpose-built photography studio and that has been extensively developed by the current photography teacher. Thorough and cohesive Schemes of Learning are available. 

Many of the students in the learning area combine photography with other visual art courses, media and humanity courses, as part of their study programme and we have an extremely high success rate of securing students’ direct entry onto creative degree courses.

The successful candidate will be placed on the Sixth Form Teachers Pay Spine 1-8+ dependent on qualifications and experience.

It is anticipated that the post will require teaching hours that equate to a 0.81 FTE contract but this could vary dependent on course enrolments.

A satisfactory criminal records check is required before the commencement of this position.
