Job overview

The Role

Do you have the drive to teach and develop high quality provision for Physical Education and Sport in Primary Schools? At Pegasus Primary we are looking for a PE teacher of Key Stage 1 and 2.  We want potential leaders of curriculum subject areas or teachers with the passion to become Master Teachers.  There is potential to work across our schools for the right candidate. Alongside your teaching you could have the subject leadership that will provide a varied, dynamic role surrounding strategic planning and evaluation as well as its overall curriculum provision.  You will be supported in your career by the ambitious Senior Leadership team and the opportunities that come with United Learning.

Pegasus Primary is situated on the outskirts of Oxford City, within Blackbird Leys.  Your work will have the power to transform life opportunities where it is needed most.

About You

We are looking for talented individuals who want to be a part of transforming education in Blackbird Leys, Oxford. You will need to be:

  • An experienced teacher with secure knowledge of a subject area and be committed to their on-going professional development.
  • Passionate in your practice - We expect the best from everyone to achieve the best in everyone.
  • Aspiring to be a future leader with pace, drive and clear potential to build a successful team as we grow.

United Learning

Pegasus Primary School is part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.

Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.
