Teacher of Physical Education

Darrick Wood SchoolBromley

Darrick Wood School requires a PE Teacher to start in September 2021. Full or part-time would be considered and the ability to teach another subject would be beneficial. Leadership responsibilities may be available for candidates with the appropriate level of experience.

Darrick Wood is an oversubscribed and successful 11-18 ten form entry mixed comprehensive academy, housed in modern buildings on an attractive site. The changing facilities, PE staff area and fitness suite have all recently been rebuilt or refurbished. These, together with a gymnasium and sports hall, extensive outdoor spaces including a state-of-the-art 3G pitch, mean that Darrick Wood is a school where pupils excel in PE and sport, supported by a strong, motivated and dedicated team of staff.

The School consistently achieves excellent results and was judged to be ‘good’ in all areas in its OFSTED inspection in January 2019. The School was awarded the World Class Schools Quality Mark in 2015 and again in 2018. The School provides excellent opportunities for career development and a full support programme for all new staff.

Darrick Wood School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff to share this commitment.  This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; pre-employment checks will be carried out; references will be sought and successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and other relevant checks with statutory bodies.
