Job overview

Teacher of Physical Education - Junior School

Full time to start April 2020

Do you have a passion for junior school sport, with a commitment to excellence and participation for all? Our junior school PE staff work closely with senior school staff, led by the Director of Sport.  You will be directly involved in the development and delivery of PE in KS1 and KS2 and will build on and contribute to our exciting range of extra-curricular opportunities for pupils.

Expertise in the teaching of swimming, and experience of organising inter school galas are crucial for this position as we will look to you to take a leading role in the delivery of both the curricular and extra-curricular swimming programmes.  The ability to coach netball, athletics, cricket, gymnastics and dance is also required; flexibility in teaching across the PE curriculum will be fundamental to the role.

Organised, and a great communicator with pupils, parents and other teaching staff, you will be at ease co-ordinating and delivering extra-curricular clubs, squads, fixtures and inter-house competitions.

We can offer you:

  • a lively, dynamic, hardworking and extremely successful department, within a school where enthusiasm for PE and extra-curricular sport is high throughout
  • competitive salary, well above the national scale
  • a friendly and supportive staff team who work collaboratively, sharing resources and ideas
  • excellent facilities
  • regular professional development and well-being opportunities throughout the year
  • your own iPad
  • access to employee benefits and advice services.
