The School seeks to appoint, from September 2019, a full-time, bright and enthusiastic Teacher of Physical Education to cover paternity leave at our successful, significantly oversubscribed and expanding school.
The person appointed will be required to teach co-educational classes across the full range of departmental activities, including swimming. While it is expected that all staff should contribute something to the school’s extra-curricular programme, this post will entail a level of commitment to Saturday fixtures and other sporting events in a packed sporting calendar.
The Physical Education teaching commitments will be across all years in the Senior Phase and Sixth Form and include swimming and Physical Education as well as teaching public examination courses. To that end, the ability to teach Physical Education to at least GCSE level is desirable.
Applicants must have a good, relevant degree and have a PGCE.
The appointment is to cover paternity leave from 1st September 2019 and is expected to end on 20th December 2019, although the school cannot guarantee any minimum or maximum period of employment.
A willingness to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school is expected.
An application via the TES portal is preferred. However, if you wish to submit an application directly to School, this and further details can be downloaded from www.qegsblackburn.com/information/vacancies/.
