The Beacon School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic colleague who is wishing to join a PE Department with a very strong reputation for PE & Sport. The school has an energetic and vibrant learning environment that supports and helps to grow talented teachers who want to be exceptional practitioners. It is the perfect place to begin your career, return to teaching or make the change to a new school.
The successful candidate will be a well-qualified teacher of Physical Education with a specialism from a number of sports, including netball, football, rugby and athletics. You will have a proven ability to facilitate outstanding student progress, to complement a Faculty where the attainment of Physical Education is above the national average. You will be required to teach KS3, GCSE PE and BTEC Sport and there may be the opportunity to teach A-Level Physical Education in the future.
We are looking to appoint a teacher who will significantly contribute to moving the quality of our learning and teaching across the Faculty from good to outstanding. The ability to teach a second subject will be a distinct advantage, as will a willingness to contribute to our partnership work with local schools.
Our core purpose is to strive for exceptional learning and learning & teaching is at the heart of everything that we do. The Beacon School is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and is part of the thriving GLF Multi-Academy Trust. We have academic express streams, a strong house system and enrichment activities. We offer extensive professional development opportunities and the school is an exciting, innovative place to work.
We proudly serve our local community and are, once again, oversubscribed with student applicants. We are conveniently located within easy reach of Sutton and south London, with excellent road networks.
