A unique opportunity to teach Physical Education at William Shakespeare’s former school in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon.

We are seeking to appoint for September 2019 a well-qualified and ambitious rugby and cricket specialist for our outstanding Sports Department. Applications would be welcomed from teachers with all levels of experience including Newly Qualified Teachers. The successful candidate must be able to teach A Level Physical Education and a Teaching & Learning Responsibly (TLR) may be available for an experienced candidate who has the ability to lead the delivery of this course.

K.E.S. is a forward-looking selective school for boys with a relatively large co-educational Sixth Form.  We are proud to have a reputation for high standards and an outstanding co-curricular programme.  The scale and variety of our sports is comparable with that found in the independent sector, indeed, many of the School’s fixtures and contacts especially in rugby, hockey, cricket, netball, rowing and fencing are with independent schools.  We regularly undertake international tours which included USA & Canada, Ireland (rugby), Barbados (cricket), Spain (netball and hockey) and Europe (fencing) last year with imminent tours to Sri Lanka (cricket), Holland (hockey) and South Africa (rugby).  Our teams and individuals frequently enjoy national and international success (inaugural Daily Mail Cup winners in rugby, British fencing champions at Under 18 and Under 15 for the last four years, Warwickshire County Cricket champions at Under 15 in 2014 and winners of both the male and female national Ball Cup in rowing in 2016, with the girls retaining their title in 2017 and 2018). We currently have 8 sportsmen and women with international honours.

The School has always played a major role in the life of Stratford-upon- Avon, situated as it is in the heart of the town. We enjoy the benefits of being a small school with talented students and a team of dedicated staff who are all committed to the wider life of the School. It is a purposeful and busy place where you will find the highest standards of work, commitment and courtesy.

We are pleased to be able to offer subsidised shared staff accommodation in the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon if required by the successful applicant.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and to equality of opportunity. Applicants must undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and DBS and barred list checks.

The closing date for the receipt of applications is Monday 4th March 2019

Interviews will be held in week beginning Monday 11th March 2019

Completed application forms, available on the School’s website (www.kes.net/about-us/vacancies), should be sent to the Headmaster’s PA, Mrs Susan Swann, at the School’s address or by email headspa@kes.net
