Job overview

Our Physics Department currently has two full-time teachers and one specialist technician. Members of the department are keen to share good practice and are friendly and supportive of one another. To be successful in this role, you should be able to teach Physics across the age and ability range to KS3, KS4 and KS5 and provide evidence of successful teaching strategies and excellent organisational skills. 

Applications will be considered from both experienced and newly qualified teachers. Applications for full and part-time hours (minimum 0.2 FTE) will be considered, as will flexible working. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the top non-selective secondary schools in the country.  We are consistently oversubscribed and have received four ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted reports and ‘World Class Schools’ status (in 2017 and 2020). Coloma achieved the accolade of ‘Best School in Croydon’ in the Real Schools Guide in 2021 and in October 2019 received its fifth ‘Outstanding’ Diocesan Inspection report.

Coloma is very proud of its history of academic achievement; this is due to the hard work, focus and dedication to Coloma’s ethos shown by pupils and staff alike. In 2019 we achieved remarkable exam results with a Progress 8 score of 0.89 at GCSE and a ALPS VA Score of 2, placing us in the top 10% of A Level providers.
