Teacher of Physics

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education is establishing a new STEM school in Doha, Qatar that will operate from September 2018. The school will initially offer places from Year 9 to Year 12. We intend to target gifted Qatari students who have deep passion for learning in Sciences and Engineering. The curriculum is customised to suit the needs of the market place of the State of Qatar and adopts an integrated trans-disciplinary approach based on the New Generation Science standards.  Lessons integrate the four STEM disciplines where there will be no barriers between subjects. A supplementary IT and Mathematics curriculum will be taught in additional periods. Students will also have 3 extra lab hours per week. Language of instruction is English.
 
The school will provide the instructional environment to develop lifelong learners and 21st century global citizens. The school aims to develop students who are critical thinking problem solvers and who work collaboratively to improve the world around them.  It aims to promote an engaging learning environment for students who are capable of making evidence based decisions and develop multiple solutions for complex real world situations. The multi-cultural staff of teachers will be offered ongoing extensive professional development opportunities that may enhance their teaching skills and strategies.

The package will include a competitive salary, annual air fares, fully furnished apartment (or similar), tuition fees for up to 3 children. Qatari Residents are offered full medical cover in Qatari government hospitals.  Deadline for applications will be end of April 2018.

Doha British School is supporting us in the initial phase of this operation but the new school is not attached to DBS. It is fully accountable to the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The management and leadership are all Qatari nationals.
