We are seeking a dynamic, well-qualified specialist graduate teacher who will teach Physics to KS4 & KS5, as well as General Science to KS3. The ability to teach IB would be an advantage. Additional responsibility with Management Allowance may be available for a suitable candidate. You will be expected to make a full contribution to the ethos, identity and life of the school and to the Guernsey Federation of Secondary Schools.
The three island 11-16 High Schools, the Guernsey Grammar School & Sixth Form Centre (11-18), and St Anne’s School in Alderney are embarking on a federated model of partnership working led by the Director of Education.

Employed by the States of Guernsey and based at The Guernsey Grammar School and Sixth Form Centre, you will be required to maximise opportunities for collaborative working, teaching and learning across Key Stages and shared professional development across schools. There is an expectation that you will engage in cross-school initiatives which may require working on more than one site to meet the needs of the Education Service.
You will be able to excite and challenge students to make rapid progress and will be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning. We are looking for someone who is passionate about raising students’ individual achievements with exciting ideas to build on existing good practice.
Facilities within the department are excellent. Teachers operate out of their own well-equipped laboratories, and also have access to a department office and large prep room. ICT is well provided for with students having access to Chromebooks/laptops and extensive data logging equipment. Technical and IT support from the technicians is excellent.
This post carries a five year housing licence. If appointed, you can expect to:
