Job overview

Tes is supporting the appointment of a Teacher of Physics to join a High School based in Merton.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Physics Teacher to join a vibrant, dynamic and enormously fun teaching community in one of the UK’s leading girls’ schools.

At the High School, they aim to excite and inspire the girls in this exciting and challenging subject, from explaining phenomena around them - the big ideas at Key Stage 3 - all the way through to the minuscule world of particle physics at A level.

You will play a key role teaching inspiring and engaging Physics lessons to all year groups in the school and general Science lessons to years 7 and 8, using an appropriate range of teaching strategies and resources, including e-learning, which meet learners’ needs and expectations.

The ability to teach Physics to A level is essential. They welcome applications from well qualified graduates in Physics or a related discipline. They also welcome applications from candidates with Qualified Teacher Status, or those with a willingness to gain qualification within a reasonable period.

About the School:

One of London's top day schools, this is a highly academic school for girls aged 4 to 18, located in the heart of Wimbledon, less than 20 minutes from central London. Their motivated students are challenged to believe in themselves within a stimulating environment and there is a 'can-do' attitude throughout the school, with girls involved in all sorts of clubs and activities.

Benefits

They can offer a variety of benefits, such as:

  • Competitive salaries and pay progression
  • Access to extensive professional development opportunities
  • Training grants for qualifications
  • Flexible Pension Plan
  • Free life assurance benefit
  • A discount of up to 50% on fees for children
  • Interest free loans for training, computer purchase loans and travel season ticket loans
  • A Cycle to Work scheme
  • Competitive terms and conditions of employment

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 16 April 2024.
