Job Description
A vacancy has arisen for a Teacher of Physics and Science at Queensferry Community High School.  This is a full-time permanent post and the successful applicant will take up post on Monday 17 August 2020.

Interviews will be held on Thursday 30 April 2020.

Queensferry Community High School is a non-denominational secondary school built in 1969, which serves the area of north west Edinburgh.  The catchment area comprises students from Dalmeny, Echline, Kirkliston and Queensferry primary schools. 

The school is firmly committed to raising attainment and promoting achievement.  This is a whole school priority in improvement planning and reflects local, CEC and national priorities.

The school will benefit from a new building scheduled for completion in Easter 2020.  The school roll is 890 and rising.  The new build will have capacity for 1200 students and has commanding views of the Forth estuary (including the three bridges).

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

The advertised salary will increase by 3% on 1st April 2020
