The suitable candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with the vision to be creative, the passion to motivate, and the subject-knowledge to challenge and inspire. A suitable candidate without a formal teaching qualification –for example, a university academic –would be most welcome to apply.

The successful candidate will be expected to become involved in College life beyond the classroom, and to contribute to the pastoral and co-curricular provision that lies at the heart of a busy full boarding school. They will be provided with accommodation*, paid a competitive salary, and given support for continuing professional development.

Deadline for applications: 12 April 2024.

Interview date: to be confirmed.

Marlborough College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the College is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children."
