The Wellington Academy opened in 2009 to serve Tidworth. Ludgershall and the surrounding area: an area with a significant military presence. Consequently, we are proud to educate a large number of children from service families and with the growing super-garrison based on Salisbury plain we expect our numbers to continue to rise.
The Wellington Academy joined the Royal Wootton Bassett Academy Trust on 1st April 2020 and are following their approach to teaching which has seen them gain an outstanding rating by Ofsted. Our curriculum breadth is focused on ensuring every pupil is exposed to the widest range of subjects possible to equip them to leave school ready to achieve their dreams and fulfil their goals. Our vision for all our pupils is that they become Inquisitive, Ambitions and Independent young adults and when they leave us, they will have the skills, knowledge and character they need to take them on to University or the work place. Our pupils are friendly and happy and value good relationships with their teachers. In a recent survey over 96% said they would recommend The Wellington Academy to a friend: a simply magnificent figure.
We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and innovative Teacher of Product Design/DT. This is an exciting time to be joining our Technology and Visual Arts team and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach DT at Key Stage 3 and Engineering and Product Design at Key Stage 4 with a view to developing a Key Stage 5 curriculum offer for 2022. DT and Engineering are popular subjects at both Key Stage 3 and 4. The role is advertised on a full time basis but part time will be considered. We would also welcome applications from experienced teachers or NQTs. Our range of facilities is extensive, including a specialist workshop and purpose designed CAD workshop. We have recently invested significantly in updating our equipment and would strongly encourage candidates to come and visit our outstanding facilities.

The Wellington Academy, as part of the Ascend Learning Trust, offers opportunities that are quite unique in a state school.
