Gable Hall School are seeking to appoint a PSHE teacher and warmly welcome applications from teachers who are; passionate about preparing young people so that they can play a full and active role in society and have the resilience and character to make the right choices to enjoy the fulfilling life they deserve. You will need to share this passion with students to excite and inspire them, whilst supporting students to negotiate the challenges and opportunities of an increasingly complex world; understanding the wonderful opportunities available, but also how to manage the challenges and mitigate risk.

The successful candidate will:

·        Possess strong subject knowledge in PSHE and be abreast of the current legislation and guidance

·        Be part of a forward-thinking department

·        Be a team player and have the ability to be flexible

·        Be a reflective practitioner

·        Be able work with all staff to improve staff awareness of RSE issues

·        Be able to monitor and gain regular student feedback on PSHE curriculum and teaching

·        Have Qualified Teacher Status

·        Possess recent, relevant teaching experience

The post of teacher of PSHE / RSE is an important role within the School. It offers an exciting opportunity for an ambitious teacher of PSHE to develop and enhance the provision of PSHE throughout KS3-KS5.

We warmly welcome applications from teachers who are passionate about students' personal, social, health and economic education and are committed to working with our young people to ensure the highest standards not only in these subjects, but also care, guidance and support. PSHE / Citizenship provides students with the skills and knowledge to make informed decisions in all aspects of their lives. Learning about PSHE creates a purposeful environment where there is an emphasis on success, building on students’ strengths, interests and experiences. Through PSHE students learn to realise the importance of a healthy lifestyle, develop critical thinking and leadership skills.

We require a teacher of PSHE / RSE / Citizenship. You will demonstrate a passion for the development of the school's high quality PSHE / RSE provision. We have a thriving curriculum and a growing demand from students for GCSE and A-level accreditation. If so, applications are welcomed from PSHE practitioners, but also from those wanting to start their teaching career.

The Department - PSHE is a well-established and integral part of the school curriculum. The aims of the Department are to allow pupils the opportunity to express their personal opinions and feelings, whilst encouraging them to listen to and respect the opinions and feelings of others. The study of PSHE promotes the general progress and wellbeing of individual pupils and the community as a whole and reflects the value and ethos of the School. PSHE is currently taught throughout the School

The staff and Governors of Gable Hall have produced a statement of aims and objectives which will be realised through the curriculum, organisation and ethos of the School. The curriculum, which is broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated, has been designed within the framework of the National Curriculum to meet the needs of individual pupils.
