Job overview

The Governors of Hutton Church of England Grammar School are seeking to appoint an outstanding subject specialist to teach Psychology and Sociology A Level in our Sixth Form.

This is a part-time position but we would be able to offer full time hours for a candidate who is also able to teach a Humanities subject or Personal Development at Key Stage 3.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward thinking candidate who can use their skills, knowledge and experience to motivate, support and inspire our students to achieve their full potential.

Hutton is a single sex boys school from 11-16 and has 713 students currently on roll. The school is co-educational from 16-18 with 149 students currently on roll in our Sixth Form. The school was judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted in May 2022 and ‘Outstanding’ by SIAMS in February 2018.

“Teachers implement the curriculum especially well in the sixth form. Here, students regularly get to explore ambitious and contemporary academic resources. They are exposed to high-level academic thinking and knowledge. Their learning flourishes.” Ofsted 2022.

Psychology and Sociology are both popular subjects in our Sixth Form and we are looking for a candidate who can work with the Subject Leader to continue to grow and develop the department.

If you would like to discuss the post further or have any questions, please contact the school via email to the HR Administrator, Ms K Wohlman, at k.wohlman@huttongrammar.org.

If you wish to be considered for this role, please complete the application form. Completed application forms and any accompanying documentation should be sent to HR Administrator, Karen Wohlman, at k.wohlman@huttongrammar.org.  All completed application forms should be accompanied by a letter, no longer than two sides A4 in length, outlining a candidate’s suitability for the post.

The school is committed to the safeguarding and well-being of all young people and expects all employees to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to Enhanced DBS clearance.
