Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Mount House School as a Teacher of Psychology. We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational teacher to join our Science Faculty as the subject lead for Psychology. This role is advertised as 0.5 but we would be happy to discuss applications for other allocations up to full-time for the right candidate who is able to offer other subjects. In particular an interest in being part of our Games programme, or some KS3 teaching in one of the traditional experimental sciences, Computer Science, or Geography. This post would suit experienced teachers, current subject leads, or ECTs.
The school is expanding, notably in the Sixth Form, and classes are considerably smaller than many other schools. The department is well-resourced and active in co-curricular activities and is looking at developing some outreach work promoting the subject to younger years and local schools. At A Level the AQA Psychology course is taught.
The post is available from September 2024. Further details about the role and how to apply can be found at: https://www.mounthouse.org.uk/vacancies/
Please e-mail completed application forms with a supporting statement to: careers@mounthouse.org.uk
The closing date for applications: 09.00am on Monday 13 May 2024.
Please note that CVs alone will not be accepted, and we reserve the right to close this advert early if we are able to appoint to the vacancy before the advertised closing date. We therefore encourage applicants to submit their applications as soon as possible.
It is a condition of employment at Mount House School that every applicant who accepts the offer of a job will be subject to criminal background checks through the DBS and will be required to provide documentary evidence to confirm their identity and right to work in the UK. The checks will be carried out at the School’s expense. References will be taken up, including those from previous employers.
Mount House School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers and other third parties to share this commitment. Safer recruitment practice and pre-employment background checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed.
