Job overview

Part-time (0.5)

We are looking for a well-qualified Psychology teacher, with a commitment to academic excellence and a dynamic approach in the classroom.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious, self-motivated and innovative teacher, who has a passion for Psychology and the skills to inspire large numbers of able and motivated Sixth Form students in this ‘Outstanding’ Bath school.

You will be encouraged to be creative and foster a ‘buzz’ about the subject, both in the classroom and around the school. You will be expected to work closely with the Head of Department, in terms of developing teaching and learning, tracking academic performance, and delivering intervention when required.

The school has a large mixed Sixth Form of more than 400 students and over 100 of these students are studying Psychology with this looking set to rise significantly, in September. It is an exciting time for the Psychology Department, which is under new leadership this academic year. Teaching in the new purpose built Sixth Form Centre, you will teach AQA Psychology to both upper and lower sixth groups where you will be encouraged to share ideas and be an integral part in the further development of this growing department.

The School has a vibrant, extra-curricular life which includes sport, music, outdoor pursuits, and a Super-Curricular lecture programme. A willingness to contribute will be an advantage.

Further details are available from: http://www.beechencliff.org.uk/vacancies/ or from the Headmaster, Mr A Davies, to whom an application should be made by application form and letter.

Closing date: Noon on Tuesday, 25th April 2017.

Interview date: Wednesday, 3rd May 2017.
