Teacher of Psychology

Avenor College is an international bilingual school rooted in Romanian culture, seeking academic excellence and personal growth. As the school expands (a new Secondary building will open in September 2022) we need to appoint enthusiastic and dynamic fully-qualified teachers who can teach up to and including A level . NQT’s are welcome to apply (we offer DfE recognised induction for NQT’s as a BSO school).

We are looking for a combination of Psychology with other subjects (preferably Business Studies).

You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons, which will be lively and include engaging activities to help students develop accuracy, fluency and most importantly, confidence, in line with leading to outstanding outcomes in external examinations. You will also assist with other duties as required.

We would welcome applicants who will fulfil the following Essential Characteristics:  

  • Relevant degree (BA in Psychology);       
  • Be able to offer Psychology to A level;        
  • Be able to offer other subjects (preferably, but not restricted to Business Studies);       
  • Psychology teaching experience with the relevant age groups outlined above;        
  • In-depth subject knowledge including assessment for learning;       
  • Proficient in English for Academic use;       
  • Be able to motivate and challenge able students by co-creating a stimulating learning experience;       
  • Be motivated to develop schemes of work and ensure that Psychology is a central aspect of the whole school curricular and co-curricular experience;       
  • Inspire trust and confidence in students, parents and colleagues, through their experience in delivering strong results along with the ability to offer CPD to colleagues in your area of specialism;       
  • Promote the wider aspirations and values of Avenor College.
