Job overview

We require for September 2017 a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of Psychology to join our thriving Humanities faculty. You should have excellent interpersonal skills combined with the ability to motivate students, whilst retaining a sense of fun. Psychology is a popular subject at A Level. The post would be suitable for an NQT or a more experienced teacher. The ability to teach a second subject in the humanities would be beneficial.

Education at its best should offer opportunities for all students to develop their own potential, to increase their understanding of the world around them and prepare them for life as an adult. Psychology is an increasingly popular choice at A-Level for our students and the number of students choosing Psychology grows year on year.

Psychology is only offered at A Level with the new OCR specification with pupils sitting the linear exams at the end of the course. Our current A Level pupils will be sitting the first exams of the new specification in June, with our current AS pupils sitting the AS level to then continue the full course in September 2017. Since September 2016 pupils have covered particular topics on the OCR specification including: the core topic of issue in mental health as well as chosen topics of, criminal psychology and sport psychology.

If you feel that you have the qualities we are looking for and you are determined to achieve the absolute best for the students that you teach, we would be delighted to hear from you.
