We currently offer A level Psychology (AQA) with Forensic Psychology enrichment as well the WJEC Diploma in Criminology. The Social Sciences Department is one of the largest in the College and has had notable success in attracting and retaining students. The Department has a reputation for being extremely supportive and new staff will always be given every assistance with books, resources and any other help they may need. Staff work closely together to plan schemes of work and share good practice. Links with local schools and employers are very good.

We aim to create constructive and supportive relationships with our students and it is the tradition at Queen Mary’s for staff and students to be on first name terms. Teachers are committed to providing a high level of support for students and give freely of their time to ensure this takes place.

Our priorities are to maintain and extend our examination success and to maintain high levels of student retention.
