Pupil Support Teacher - Learning & Inclusion Team

This challenging and dynamic role requires a strong pupil support teacher to work collaboratively with a range of staff to provide support for pupils with Additional Support Needs.

The successful candidate will provide individual support to pupils across the Authority in both primary and secondary sectors who are experiencing crisis in their mainstream school placement. In addition, they will address barriers to learning cause by one or more of the following: learning factors, family circumstances, disability or health, children in need of care and protection, social and emotional factors. They will be a part of the Learning and Inclusion team, consisting of specialist teachers and school assistants who support schools through consultation and the allocation of team led, targeted interventions.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have a sound understanding of nurturing approaches, can build positive working relationships with pupils, schools and parents and have a wealth of experience supporting action plans with emphasis on literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing.
