Job overview

Jesmond Park Academy is a large, thriving and fully subscribed comprehensive school, which is rapidly making progress towards our vision of being outstanding. As a member of the Gosforth Group we are working in partnership to lay the foundations for what promises to be an exciting and rapid period of change and development in the school’s history. Our academy offers a positive working experience, with an enthusiastic staff firmly focused on us becoming a leading academy in the city. If you want to be part of realising our vision, play your part in helping us to build on our already significant progress and development, and have a genuine desire to do the best for our students, then come and join us on our journey to being outstanding.

We are seeking to appoint from September 2023, a well-qualified, enthusiastic and innovative Teacher of RE and Citizenship. There may be a requirement to teach some Personal Development (a KS4 blended course of Careers, Citizenship, RE and study skills) and to deliver some Key Stage 3 History and Geography as part of this role, so an interest in these areas would also be beneficial. The candidate appointed will join a successful and supportive team of staff who regularly share good practice and provide a knowledge based approach to learning. A willingness to teach across the full age and ability range is essential. The post is suitable for ECT’s.

Flexible working options may be considered.

You will be employed by the Gosforth Group and may need to work across all locations within the Multi Academy Trust as required.

Following the shortlisting process, where applicable, candidates who attend interview, will be reimbursed reasonable expenses for travel and accommodation.

The school is strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure and a range of other recruitment checks.

Further details and an application form are available from the school website www.jesmondparkacademy.org.uk

Closing date for applications is 9am on Monday 12th June 2023

Interviews will take place shortly thereafter
