Job overview

We are recruiting for a well-qualified teacher of Religion and Philosophy from September 2017 to join this highly successful department for a one-year maternity cover. The Department offers OCR (A) GCSE, focusing on Christianity and Buddhism and, as of September 2015, Pre-U for the Sixth Form. The post will involve teaching at all levels in the School. The department consistently achieves excellent results: last year they were 80% A*-A at A level and 87% A*-A at GCSE. Experience of teaching Philosophy and Theology Pre-U would be an advantage. Candidates will be expected to show a willingness to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the School. Applications from NQTs are welcome.

The School occupies fine, modern buildings near St. Paul’s Cathedral overlooking the Thames, opposite the Tate Modern.

City of London School is an independent school based in London for boys aged 10-18.

The school site is situated by the Thames. It has over 20 acres of sports pitches. It was established in 1834 and moved to its present site in 1986. The school is governed by a board and by the City of London Corporation, which appoints its governors.
