Maternity Cover

We would like to appoint an enthusiastic and talented full time Teacher of Religious Education to cover maternity in our dedicated and supportive RE team.

All students undertake Religious Education through to KS4 when pupils study for a GCSE following the AQA Specification B. Our Sixth Form study A Level Philosophy & Ethics, OCR specification and also participate in the EPQ course.

Recently designated “Outstanding” (Section 48) in November 2018 St Joseph’s is a school where “pupils make outstanding progress. St Joseph’s is well known for being a great school to teach in, where the students are highly aspirational”. We were judged “Good” by Ofsted in January 2016 and in a further short inspection in December 2018 where consequently we’re expecting a further full inspection to assess our suitability for ‘Outstanding’. In 2016 the school was described as having a “deep seated conviction and moral purpose that all pupils have the right to an excellent education which drives a very positive culture in the school”. Our recent progress 8 score from 2018 to 2021 has been +0.43, 0.66 and +0.51 which places us regularly in the top 10% of schools nationally. We believe in professional development; In exchange for hard work and a commitment to the school, we will ensure that you are prepared for the next stage in your teaching career.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly motivated learning community of approximately 1000 students (including 205 in the Sixth Form) where we have a deep rooted belief in professional development, in exchange for hard work and a commitment to the school, we will ensure that you are prepared for the next stage in your teaching career.
