Job overview
We are looking for someone with outstanding subject knowledge and a passion for the subject, who can communicate this to students, whose lessons are engaging and thought-provoking for all. Candidates should hold at least a first degree (or equivalent qualification) in Philosophy, Theology, and/or Religious Studies.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, an appreciation of different learning styles, the ability to play an effective part in a team and build up positive rapports with colleagues and students, and an appreciation of the ethos and aims of Bedales and the way in which Religious Studies & Philosophy contributes to the aims of the school.
An ability to teach Buddhist Thought to A Level would be an advantage, though this is not essential.

Bedales School is an independent, co-educational, selective, day and boarding school for children aged 3-18. It is situated in Petersfield in Hampshire and there are 460 pupils on its roll. There are admission fees and scholarships and bursaries are available.
Bedales is a charitable trust and was founded in 1893 by J H Badley as a humane alternative to the authoritarian regimes of the late-Victorian public schools. Its founding ethos was, and still is, “Head, Hand and Heart.”
