The Vacancy

We are an 11-16 United Learning Academy with a roll of 1050 and in every year group we have waiting lists for places.

We believe that it is our job to ensure that education here at Marsden Heights provides our pupils with a silver spoon that life does not give to so many of our pupils.

We also believe that it is our job to ensure that our pupils are happy, safe and well and to this end, we make no apologies for our unwavering commitment to all aspects of safeguarding.

We recognise that the Marsden Heights staff team are our biggest asset. We work hard to provide high-quality training both whole school and within subject specialisms and we have a strong commitment to reducing workload to support our staff for their greater wellbeing.

The role

Marsden Heights are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, Teacher of Religious Studies from September 2023. The candidate will work closely with the Head of Department and other teachers to deliver a curriculum built on ‘bringing out the best in everyone’.

If this is you, come and join the staff at Marsden Heights Community College. We are an inclusive, friendly, and diverse community with an ethos of hard work, trust and fairness. We are proud to be part of United Learning, a group of secondary, primary, and independent schools, whose motto is: ‘The best in everyone’ - a philosophy to which we wholeheartedly subscribe.

We would warmly welcome applications from ECT's and experienced teachers.

What we offer:

  • An exceptional salary, above the maintained sector.

  • Up to 9 INSET days per year, dedicated to subject knowledge development and planning/resource development.
  • Excellent ongoing CPD and career development opportunities.

United Learning

We are part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.

Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.

We are working hard to become a more diverse organisation – which is key to our commitment to bringing out the best in everyone. We welcome applications from everyone committed to this ethos and would particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic candidates, who are currently under-represented in the Group as a whole. We always appoint on merit. We are open to discussing flexible working options.
