Our school

Our Humanities department

Our humanities department has transformed student outcomes in recent years and created an exciting subject area through the relentless energy of staff, its forward-thinking approach to the curriculum, and an outstanding extra-curricular provision that takes advantage of our London connections.

Our Religious Studies curriculum and pedagogy

The Humanities department achieves outstanding results, with excellent progress achieved at both KS4 and KS5. We prepare our students for the new GCSE by teaching challenging, engaging content from Year 7 onwards. Our KS4 students benefit from our forward-thinking, personalised and collaborative approach towards the new GCSE; our recent results with our Year 11s confirm that this approach works. In 2020, the Religious Studies department achieved a pass rate of 76% for grades 5-9, and a progress 8 score of 1.03. 

The ideal candidate for this post will be:

● Enthusiastic, driven, and an excellent classroom practitioner who is committed to student success and development

● Experienced in planning and delivering GCSE Religious Studies 

● Willing to contribute to extra-curricular activities 

● Experienced in teaching the relevant subject(s) with a relevant university degree

● Able to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to their own professional growth and development
