We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and suitably qualified Teacher of Science to inspire and nurture the next generation of Scientists through outstanding teaching and learning.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach all year groups including Sixth Form and build on the high standards the school enjoys. So if you have proven teaching skills, a passion for Science, a strong record of outstanding teaching practice with clear evidence of excellent, positive impact and the commitment to continue raising the educational achievements of all students we would like to hear from you.

In return we can offer a supportive and caring work environment suitable for both NQTs starting out on their teaching career and experienced teachers too. We also welcome applications from teachers interested in part time working hours.

About St Thomas More Catholic Secondary School

St Thomas More Catholic Secondary School is a successful, oversubscribed 11-18 Catholic school, which is part of the Bedford group of Our Lady Immaculate Catholic Academies Trust (OLICAT) schools. Other schools in the Bedford group are St John Rigby Primary School and St Joseph’s & St Gregory's Primary School. St Thomas More is a specialist school in humanities and leadership and also a teaching school. Our last Ofsted inspection, in January 2011, judged St Thomas More to be an outstanding school. Our highly motivated, professional and friendly staff continue to secure higher levels of learning and examination success.

St Thomas More currently employs over 150 teaching and support staff. All staff who join St Thomas More are encouraged to progress further through training and personal development.
