Teacher of Science (Biology)

We are seeking a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of Science (Biology) to work within the Science department. This is a permanent appointment and we will consider applications for full time or substantial part time (0.6 FTE or above) employment. Applications from NQTs are welcome.
The successful candidate would be expected to teach Biology across a range of classes in Years 9-11 and to contribute to the teaching of the Year 7/8 Science course. Biology is a popular choice for students in the Sixth Form and the opportunity to teach A Level is available for a suitable qualified and/or experienced candidate. Applications from newly qualified teachers with an appropriate academic background are welcome. The ability to teach another science subject such as may also be advantageous.
We are a very popular co-educational 11-18 selective school with academy status, located within easy reach of Langley station and the M4. We have approximately 1090 students, over 325 of whom are in the Sixth Form; the school is heavily over-subscribed and draws students from a wide geographical area. We are a National Teaching School with a record of innovative practice and extensive outreach and support work in local primary and secondary schools. In recent years a major building programme has included excellent sports facilities and a distinctive Sixth Form Centre. The school was last inspected in 2007, and was graded outstanding in all categories.
