Q3 Tipton has high expectations for all students and is one of nine schools in the Mercian Academy Trust. We embed the ethos of the Trust: “To live life to the full in pursuit of that which is good, right and true” and are passionate about social equality within our community.

“Pupils understand expectations and appreciate the positive environment. Teachers treat pupils as individuals, and pupils welcome this. Pupils feel confident to ‘be themselves’ in this inclusive community” (Ofsted, 2022). Following Ofsted in December 2022, we are looking to expand our Science department to continue in our journey of excellence, working to support and develop opportunities for our students within our community.

We are seeking a self-motivated, supportive and inspiring teacher who has experience in teaching Science across Key Stages 3 – 4; the ability to contribute to the delivery of one of our A Levels (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) would be welcomed but is not essential. You will be an excellent teacher who is passionate about your subject and able to inspire and motivate students to learn.

You would be joining a well-established and cohesive team of colleagues, with good links across other schools as part of the Mercian Academy Trust, with excellent opportunities for development.

This is a 1 year fixed term role for maternity cover.

The Academy is looking for someone who has:

  • Excellent subject knowledge in Science;
  • A track record of inspiring students in Science, enabling them to achieve outstanding results;
  • Inspiring and creative ideas to make Science subjects accessible to a range of abilities;
  • The ability to understand and work with assessment data to monitor and intervene as appropriate with students.

A Welcome Message from our Headteacher

Q3 Academy Tipton is a large, diverse, and exciting secondary school in the Black Country. We are growing in size, ambition and influence; all aspects of the school are rapidly improving. Our December 2022 Ofsted Inspection very rightly celebrated our warm, caring and inclusive community, recognised the incredible improvement journey we have been on as well as identifying appropriate next steps.

“Leaders have high expectations for pupils at Q3 Academy Tipton. They want all pupils to ‘live life to the full in pursuit of what is good, right, and true’. Pupils understand these expectations and appreciate the positive environment. Teachers treat pupils as individuals, and pupils welcome this. Pupils feel confident to ‘be themselves’ in this inclusive community. Pupils say that behaviour has ‘significantly improved’, and they feel safe in school.” Ofsted, 2022.

Our staff are highly committed and we invest in professional learning and development whilst striving to make the workplace as family friendly as we can, always seeking ways to reduce workload and enhance work-home balance. Our leadership is highly ethical, trusting and we value a diverse workforce. We are building an innovative and transformative curriculum that engages and interests children whilst equipping them with the knowledge and skills for academic and personal success. Our academy is on a journey of rapid improvement and if you join us you will be investing in something of genuine value that will transform the futures of our young people. Come and meet us.
