The role

We are looking to appoint an inspirational and dedicated Teacher of Science who is committed to ensuring progress and engagement in our thriving science department.

This is an amazing opportunity to join a hardworking and experienced team who are passionate about making sure that all students achieve their potential and develop a love of science.

We are looking for a teacher who will support our students both within science and through extra curricula activities and project based learning.

We currently deliver: GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Combined Science and Computer Science; A Level Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science and BTEC Level 3 Applied Science (RQF).

This position would suit a newly or recently qualified teacher. The ability to teach A Level Physics and/or Level 3 Applied Science BTEC would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will benefit from the support of an experienced science technician, personal teaching space and weekly CPD sessions.

UTC Bolton

UTC Bolton exists to meet an urgent need for STEM skills in the North West region. Together with our sponsors, University of Bolton, we provide the combined academic and technical education to equip local young people to take on highly skilled roles in health sciences and technology engineering.

Our aim is to prepare students to meet the demand for highly skilled STEM careers in either Health Science or the tech sector. We will do this by ensuring that every student maximises their academic potential and experiences a range of STEM enrichment activities.

UTC Bolton has recently been judged as ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted. They acknowledged the colleges ‘calm and orderly environment’ and that ‘pupils are polite, courteous and respectful to each other and staff’.

The UCS is a University Technical College encompassing Key Stage 3 and 4, along with a sixth form provision.  

The UCS is located on the University of Bolton campus. The UCS has an outstanding £10 million facility for 11 to 19 year olds which includes specialist laboratories. Our facilities uniquely inspire and motivate our students to succeed in their studies and propel their careers forward.

To accommodate the growing student numbers, a new key stage 3 extension is underway and is scheduled to open in 2025, along with our Multi Use Games Area set to open in September 2024.

Our staff are subject specialists who employ a wide range of teaching and learning strategies.
