Job overview

Teacher of Science

w.e.f. 1st September 2017

Beckfoot Upper Heaton aims to become one of the country's great comprehensive schools.  We want our students to love learning and be well placed to do something great with their lives.  Our staff are cherished.  We abandon anything that gets in the way of freeing teachers up to plan, teach and assess effectively.  High quality professional development and leadership training for staff are central features of our school and Trust.  Beckfoot Upper Heaton is a new school with a buzz.  It is a great place to work.

We are looking for a talented Science Teacher who is ambitious, positive, highly professional and absolutely committed to ensuring that students achieve great outcomes and enjoy Science.  We would be delighted to take you on a tour of our new school prior to interview if it would be of interest.  We welcome applications from NQTs for September 2017.

The successful candidate will be provided with personalised professional development from the Beckfoot Teaching School.  This offer includes subject specific development, leadership development and coaching programmes.  This is in addition to the high quality Faculty and whole school professional development provided to all staff.

For full details of this vacancy, please contact Kirsti Dodd on 01274 493533 or kad@beckfootupperheaton.org.  Closing date for applications is Wednesday, 7th June.  Interviews will take place week commencing 12th June 2017.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Values and vision

Beckfoot Upper Heaton has the slogan “enjoy, learn, succeed”. It is passionate about providing high-quality education for young people.

The school has four key ways to make students' time at school a positive one: it tracks each individual’s progress, in order to motivate and inspire pupils; it gives each student a selection of curriculum choices that are relevant to their strengths, in order to free their learning experience; it gets to know all children on a personal level, in order to relate to them as individuals; and it strives to create a culture of leadership in all areas of the school, challenging students to make their school a vibrant place to learn.
