Job overview

A well-qualified, dynamic and inspirational teacher of Science is required to teach the subject to Year 9 and above, including Chemistry and Physics to A Level. Candidates must also be willing to contribute to the wider life of the school. The position would suit a new graduate or an experienced teacher.

The successful candidate will join a relatively large department. The recent promotion to expand the sixth form has seen rapid growth over the last two years, and pupil numbers in these year groups are expected to increase to 70+ for the academic year 2016-17. This has had a direct impact on the demand for more teaching in this subject, particularly for the sixth form year groups.

Sherfield offers a competitive salary scale and the possibility of single accommodation at a subsidised rate for one year, which will involve some contribution to boarding duties. Fee concessions are available to children of staff, subject to entry procedures at Sherfield School.

Sherfield School is undergoing an exciting period of change and wants you to help shape its future. The school is owned by GEMS Education, a global group with schools in Europe, USA and the Far East which provides a unique opportunity for ambitious professionals. Sherfield has seen investment in recent months with major developments continuing through 2016.

Sherfield is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
