At Grace Academy Coventry, the Science Department deliver a carefully considered knowledge-led curriculum over five years to instil scientific understanding above and beyond the requirements of the GCSE specification. All pupils will experience lessons with a high level of challenge, supported by expert teaching staff who have the unfaltering belief that all pupils can attain and achieve. Frequent low-stakes quizzing will support pupils with committing knowledge to their long-term memories, and pupils will develop into enthusiastic learners as they successfully acquire a wealth of knowledge that increases their understanding and appreciation of the world around them.
Our Academy has a new Principal and we are on a rapid journey of improvement towards outstanding. As a result of these changes we are looking for a talented, dynamic and inspirational Teacher of Science, ideally with a Chemistry or Physics specialism, to teach across the ability range up to GCSE level from February 2018, or as soon as possible thereafter. Ideally, the right candidate will also have the capacity to deliver the A-level curriculum in either Chemistry of Physics.

The Science Department:
The Science Department is a close-knit and enthusiastic team at an exciting stage of development. For September, the Academy appointed a new Senior Leader for Science with experience of presiding over improved GCSE Science results in previous roles. The Department is currently going through the process of embedding evidence based teaching and learning methods to improve the provisions for all pupils. The Department benefits from a number of strong and highly motivated teachers with a passion for delivering the Science curriculum. Currently, the Academy offers all three of the main Science specialisms (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) up to A level.
