The City of Stoke on Trent Sixth Form College is a thriving, lively and successful Sixth Form College, committed to social inclusion. The College is located in an award-winning, state of the art building at the heart of the University Quarter in Stoke on Trent, adjacent to Stoke Railway Station, which provides excellent travel links. In addition, all STEM students are taught in the University Science Centre which provides access to sophisticated university standard facilities. In September 2017, the College achieved academy status as part of the Potteries Educational Trust. The Trust is working collaboratively with educational institutions from across Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire and beyond, seeking to improve outcomes for all children and young people in the region. In October 2017, Ofsted Inspectors graded the College ‘Good’ with several excellent features and praised staff and students for creating a supportive learning community. Teacher of Science / Chemistry

(Permanent / Full Time)

This is a full time position, however part time applications will also be considered. Please state your preference and preferred time commitment on your application. 

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and successful teacher of Science / Chemistry who will be required to teach GCSE and Level 3 Science / Chemistry. The ability to teach physical sciences in addition to Chemistry would be advantageous, but not essential. The Science team is enthusiastic and flexible and there is a strong commitment to continuous improvement and supporting learning. The department has established good relationships with partner institutions including local universities, FE Colleges and feeder schools.  

If you have a passion for Science / Chemistry, and the desire and ability to share that successfully with young people, we would welcome your application.

The teaching post would be suitable for an NQT or experienced teachers.

Salary for the teaching post will be paid according to the Sixth Form College’s Salary Spine for Teachers (£22, 937 - £38,364).
