Our Science department is extremely successful and delivers outstanding results in Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. In 2017, Single sciences performance at GCSE was 0.51 VA and performance in core and additional science was 0.55 and 0.37 VA respectively. At A Level Physics, Chemistry and Biology also delivered value added performance.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Science teacher who has the ability and capacity to join our outstanding science department. The science department consists of several key post holders and 15 Science specialists. The Science department also benefits from regular collaboration with our other Futures Trust secondary and primary schools. President Kennedy School has recently been awarded Teaching School status which provides further opportunities for collaboration and CPDL with other secondary schools within the Teaching School Alliance.
As a qualified Science teacher, you will possess a passion for raising achievement in Science and an aptitude for overcoming barriers to learning. Dynamic and creative, you will be an excellent team player able to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues.
Staff at President Kennedy School are supported by experienced senior teachers who commit generously of their time to train and develop colleagues. The school offers focused CPDL for all staff based on their future aspirations, and has a proven track record of developing excellent teachers and leaders.
At President Kennedy School everything we do is focused on Building Brighter Futures for our students, our staff and our community. We are an outstanding school with excellent examination results year after year. In 2017 the school achieved a Progress 8 score of 0.62. 42% of our students achieved 5+ in English and Maths and 64% secured 4+. These results placed the school in the top 3% of schools nationally for progress. In July 2013 the school was judged outstanding in all areas by Ofsted. The school is heavily over-subscribed and moved into a brand new building in September 2017.
