Barr’s Hill is an 11-18 inner city school in the heart of Coventry. Our diverse student population is one of the many strengths of the school. We are part of The Futures Trust, a rapidly growing and successful Multi Academy Trust, passionate about building brighter futures for the young people who attend its schools. We are driven by a set of compelling values:
- Learners First – young people, staff, leaders, governors and trustees totally focused upon the educational benefit of our learners within a safe and supportive environment
- It’s about learning – young people, staff, leaders, governors and trustees totally focused upon developing and improving learning underpinned by harmonious and trusting relationships
- No Barriers – no excuses, only support to ensure young people, staff, leaders, governors and trustees maximise the academic achievement of learners whilst enabling them to develop and flourish as well rounded individuals
This is an exciting time to join Barr’s Hill School and the Futures Trust; the school is on a rapid improvement journey with clear values and a vision for exceptional learning. In 2019 we achieved best pupil progress results in Coventry (non-selective) and top 3% nationally.
We believe in building a role around a candidates skills so they can thrive and make a real difference to our students. Talk to us about what you are great at, passionate about, or want to develop and we will see if it aligns with our needs.
This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious and proven classroom practitioner who may be interested in making a step towards middle or senior leadership. A role could be built around an outstanding, committed and motivated teacher to lead the development of teaching and learning or curriculum in our Science Faculty. Equally a teacher new to the profession will thrive in our challenging but highly supportive environment, and an NQT could be offered a July start date.
An ambitious and innovative teacher will thrive in this environment and will be offered plentiful opportunity for further progression and to effect real change to make a difference to students and the school. We are committed to the continuing professional development of all our staff. The school fully funds masters courses for colleagues interested and offers a range of high quality leadership development programmes and opportunities.
“This is a school in which everyone is valued and cared for. Staff have unanimously bought in to the shared common values.“
“The culture and ethos around the school is inclusive and driven towards high outcomes for all learners.”
“Staff training is highly effective and supports the school’s drive for excellence.”
