Morton Academy is judged as ‘Good’ by Ofsted and is now striving for further improvement. We are seeking to appoint a professional and talented Teacher of Science.   Teachers will have excellent communication skills and be able to teach throughout the age and ability range.  We require enthusiastic, committed and forward looking professionals who can contribute to the growth of these important subject areas.  Applicants will need to demonstrate the ability to be an effective team member, show how you have or how you will contribute strategies and resources to support this growing department and will show a thorough commitment to student learning. 

A teacher acts as a role model and has a central role in promoting high standards for all students, imparting the values, skills and knowledge to become responsible citizens and lifelong learners.  These posts involve subject teaching and contributing to the development of the subject.  

Students' attitudes to learning have a decisive bearing on their attainment and progress and such attitudes are strongly influenced by what happens in the classroom. High quality teaching is at the heart of Morton Academy’s ethos and vision.

Located a short drive from Carlisle city centre, Morton Academy is a rapidly growing 11-16 school, with a shared sixth form located at the site of its sister academy, Central Academy, with whom it works very closely.
