John Flamsteed Community School is an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ school located in Denby, Derbyshire within easy reach of Nottingham, Derby, Sheffield and the Peak District. We are a founding member of the East Midlands Education Trust and work in close partnership with other academies within the Trust. We enjoy an excellent local reputation and our intake has expanded from four to six forms of entry in recent years.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and ambitious Science teacher to join our already successful Science and Computing Department where separate and combined sciences are taught with outstanding results. We expect a proven track record of delivering excellent lessons alongside exceptional organisation and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge, understanding and experience for improving learning experiences and raising standards with an ability to teach Science across all abilities and age groups from KS3 to GCSE. A-level teaching could be offered depending on skills and experiences.
The post would suit NQTs (with a one-year induction programme) or more experienced teachers looking to further their careers in an ambitious environment.

John Flamsteed Community School was founded in 1894 as Smithy Houses School. It reopened under its current name in 1981.
