Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a Permanent, full-time Teacher of Science to join our Science Faculty.  A consideration for Physics teaching to Key Stage 5 would be an advantage but is not essential. With this in mind, the post may attract a TLR 3 to promote work across the Academy and the Trust, focussed on improving the provision and learning experience and the outcomes for students.

Holderness Academy and Sixth Form College is a large comprehensive school with 1287 students on roll, including 169 in the Sixth Form. The Academy is situated in East Riding of Yorkshire and located in the small village of Preston.

Holderness Academy and Sixth Form College is a disciplined and well-organised environment.  We have a strong student and staff voice approach which has impacted significantly on the recent developments in our Academy environment and in approaches to Teaching and Learning and fostering well-being and mental resilience across all teams.

If you would like to join a large, motivated community school where every person matters, we look forward to receiving your application.  All appointments are subject to satisfactory DBS and Safeguarding checks.

Closing date: 9:00 am Monday 25 March

Holderness Academy and Sixth Form College is a large comprehensive school with 1287 students on roll, including 169 in the Sixth Form. The Academy is situated in East Riding of Yorkshire and located in the small village of Preston – a village which dates back before the Domesday Book. It sits six miles to the East of Hull and one mile from the town of Hedon.

The Academy attracts students from all its surrounding East Yorkshire towns and villages, and staff from even further afield. We are incredibly proud to have a positive and engaged student body and a dedicated and talented team of staff and governors.
